Who should enroll?
K-12 Students with any academic background are welcome to enroll at 4D Learning Center.
We have many advanced students enrolled at the program. (For example, some of the 3rd~4th graders are now learning pre-Algebra, and some 4th~6th graders are learning Algebra. Their top academic performances at 4D Learning Center have made them top performers at their schools. Some of these students practice math competition problems at 4D Learning Center as well.
At the same time, we also have some enrolled students working on catching up their school work because they lag behind at school. Some of these students, having spent some time studying at 4D Learning Center, have made significant progress academically at school.
4D Learning Center welcome students with learning disabilities as well. We have experience in working with these students and we have very good results in helping them to achieve their academic goals.
How many subjects does 4D Learning Center offer?
4D Learning Center offers multiple subjects - math, reading, writing, and science to all K-12 students, along with special workshops on math competitions (such as MathCounts and AMC).
How many types of service do you offer?
We offer three types of services:
* Monthly subscription program;
* Private Tutoring
What is the monthly subscription program and how much does it cost?
Most 4D Students are enrolled into the 4D monthly subscription program. This is the most affordable way to allow the students to enjoy all of the services provided at 4D while paying a low monthly tuition. This program is extremely affordable -- the rate is much lower than the typical rate you would pay to a private tutor's hourly rate. For more information, please call (401) 402-04DL (i.e. (401) 402-0435) to learn more.
What is the Private Tutoring program and how much does it cost?
Some 4D Students are enrolled into the 4D Private Tutoring program. The hours are flexible, and the tutor can provide the tutoring service either at the student's home or in a private room at the 4D Learning Center. The price for the tutoring service is very competitive. For more information, please call (401) 402-04DL (i.e. (401) 402-0435) to learn more.
What are the 4D Workshops and how much does each workshop cost?
4D Instructors often run some special workshops for its students. As of now, we have weekly workshop series for MathCounts/AMC8 and Advanced Word Problem Solving for 4~8th graders. All 4D workshops are free to all 4D students, and we do not accept non-4D students.
Are 4D Workshops the same as classes?
Good question! 4D prefer to call their "classes" as "workshops" to emphasize the interaction between the instructors and the students, although other may still consider the workshops are classes.
During the 4D workshops, 4D instructor teaches many 5~8th graders the techniques for solving advanced MathCounts/AMC type of problems. The goal is to train the students to eventually compete at the MathCounts or AMC competitions. At the same time, 4D instructors also teach some advanced word problem solving skills to elementary school students (usually 3~5th graders). The goal is to train the students to think differently and help them to build the foundation for the next level (MathCounts/AMC Competitions). All students will have to complete some of the 4D materials so that they meet some pre-requisites before joining the workshops. For most students, mastering of basic 4 operations (+, -, *, and /) is very important, and some basic understanding of fraction is a plus. 4D workshop series are free to all 4D students, and we do not accept non-4D students.
Over the years, 4D has trained several top math students to compete at the State competitions. So far, 4D students have achieved the following:
* All 4D students who wish to participate in the MathCounts competition have made the cut to become members of their respective school teams.
* Several 4D students have become top 8 State MathCounts winners over the years;
* One 4D student won the MathCounts State Championship; He was the only RI State MathCounts Champion in history (then) who won both the overall score and the the count-down round;
* Several 4D students have won first place of the RI State in AMC 8 and AMC 10;
* A few became AIME qualifiers
As part of the pre-requisite, all students must at least have some basic Algebra 1 knowledge. This workshop series are free to all 4D students, and we do not accept non-4D students.
